Do you teach in a socially engaged way?

If so, the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) invites you to apply for a $1,000 action teaching award or an instructional grant of up to $1,500. For details and application forms, please see:

http://www.spssi.org/action-teaching

ACTION TEACHING AWARD

SPSSI invites you to apply for a $1,000 award that honors excellence in "action teaching"—that is, teaching which contributes to peace, social justice, and sustainable living at the same time that it educates students. The award is open to all instructors—student teachers as well as long-time veterans of the classroom—regardless of learner level (K-12, high school, college, graduate level, or adult learners). Entries may include a creative student assignment, classroom activity, field experience, or web-based demonstration. The application process is simple, and the winner will be invited to submit an article on the entry to the "Action Teaching" section of the Journal of Social and Political Psychology.

Deadline: March 15, 2024

ACTION TEACHING GRANTS

SPSSI provides grants of up to $1,500 to members who seek to develop, enhance, or measure the impact of an action teaching activity, assignment, field experience, or web-based resource. A maximum of three grants will be awarded annually.

Deadline: April 30, 2024
