Assistant Professor at Utrecht University, the Netherlands

As of September 1, 2006, the Department of Social and Organizational Psychology at Utrecht University, the Netherlands, has an opening for a four-year term position as an Assistant Professor of Social Psychology.

We are looking for a highly motivated, competent, and creative researcher who is capable of conducting basic research on the social psychology of social justice and related issues such as social cognition, affect, embodiment, fluency, and uncertainty. More specifically, your research will be funded by and hence will take place within the research program of Kees van den Bos. This program focuses on the basic social psychology of people's justice concerns and associated topics such as personal uncertainty (for more information, please see http://vandenbos.socialpsychology.org).

In addition to 60% of research time, the position includes 40% teaching duties. Your teaching will involve mainly the supervision of basic and applied research projects in our Bachelor and Master programs.

We ask the following qualifications:
o Being educated as a social psychologist, preferably completed with a PhD.
o Ample experience with high quality scientific research, preferably in the areas of social cognition, affect, embodiment, fluency and/or social justice and/or uncertainty.
o Scientific creativity and productivity as indicated by first-author publications in high-impact journals.
o Affinity with the literatures on social cognition, affect, embodiment, fluency as well as social justice and uncertainty.
o Genuine interest in the supervision of both basic and applied social psychological research projects and other possible teaching duties.

We offer a temporary position of at least four years and good working and research facilities. This will be a full-time position. Your gross monthly income will be a minimum of 2950 Euros and a maximum of 4049 Euros (Scale 11 Dutch Universities).
