SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS
Appointment will be made on a 9-month, multi-year appointment basis. Successful candidates are required to provide an official transcript prior to the start of the semester.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reports to Chair of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Responsibilities will include effectively teaching undergraduate courses in social psychology (including specialty seminars) as well as a variety of undergraduate foundation courses including cognitive psychology, general psychology, and developmental social psychology. Works collaboratively with other Psychology faculty to develop and implement new courses and programs as relevant to the needs of the university and its students. Participates in the integrated core of courses for the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and teach in the general education program as appropriate. Continued scholarly activity is expected at a level commensurate with the mission of the university. Community, institutional, and professional service in furtherance of FGCU's mission is expected of all faculty.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D in Psychology (Social Psychology Major) from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Expertise in Cognitive or Developmental Social Psychology. An individual with strong commitment to teaching excellence is essential. Active research agenda that supports undergraduate student research. Proven ability to work across traditional academic boundaries. Experience with/or demonstrated interest in distance learning.
