The Howard University, Department of Psychology, invites applications for up to 4 new tenure-track faculty members, at any academic level. We are reviewing applications from the following areas of specialization: social, developmental, quantitative methods, and clinical psychology. Howard University is a historically Black comprehensive, research-oriented university. In addition to teaching responsibilities, faculty members in each area are required to establish active research programs, supervise masters and dissertation research and participate in a large undergraduate and graduate training program. All positions will begin August 15, 2005.

Social Psychology. Must pursue an active research and scholarship program in any area of contemporary experimental social psychology and have a commitment to excellence in teaching. Teach undergraduate and Ph.D. program courses across the breadth of experimental social psychology. Contact person: Dr. Lloyd Ren Sloan, lsloan@howard.edu.

Developmental Psychology. Teach developmental courses at undergraduate and graduate levels and conduct topical graduate seminars in developmental psychology. Applications are particularly welcomed from those with interests in ethnic and cultural issues. Contact person: Dr. Wade Boykin, aboykin@howard.edu.

Quantitative methods. Teach undergraduate and graduate statistics and research methods courses and seminars in content area of interest. Contact person: Dr. Serge Madhere, s_madhere@howard.edu.

Clinical Psychology. Teach undergraduate courses in Abnormal Psychology and graduate Clinical Assessment and Practicum Supervision courses. Applications are particularly welcomed from those with interests in cultural issues and behavioral medicine. Contact person: Dr. Linda Berg-Cross, lberg-cross@howard.edu.

We may have a special interest in faculty applicants for one or more of the above three non-quantitative positions who also are prepared and willing to regularly teach statistics or research methods at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
