Contractor Position Title: Change Management Consultant

Change Management Consultant

Several change management consultant positions are available for doing change management and organization design in the network services area of the telecommunications industry.

The project deliverables include the:

· identification and documentation of the Present Method of Operation (PMO),

· development the Future Method of Operation (FMO),

· design of a detailed migration plan to move from PMO to FMO,

· and assistance in implementing the migration plan.

The incumbent will be advising and interacting with executives and senior managers in the client organization. Consequently, to be effective in this huge undertaking, the incumbent must have contemporary professional change management experience that enables him to be able to identify, comprehend, analyze, document, plan, advise and consult with the customer's management at various levels.

Additionally, the successful candidate should possess good facilitation, analytical, and communication skills. The project requires a flexible attitude, teamwork, the ability to effectively work in an ambiguous and unfamiliar environment, the ability to apply new methodologies and tools, and the willingness to adapt to client needs and expectations. The specific responsibilities to be undertaken are identified below.

Responsibilities

· Identify and assess the efficacy of the Present Method of Operation (PMO).

· Identify and define the problems and costs associated with the PMO.

· Identify Future Methods of Operation (FMO) that overcome these costs and disadvantages.

· Propose Future Methods of Operation and their associated benefits.

· Design Organizational Structure and the Organizational Mechanisms required in the FMO.

· Identify Change Agent "needs". Subsequently, implement the means of satisficing these needs through actions including: identifying potential client change agents and realizing effective Change Agent roles and responsibilities by creating and conducting team building workshops.

· Facilitate the Projects success by contributing to building a high performance team.

· Assist with stakeholder mapping. Identify stakeholders, assess their readiness for change, and identify impediments to successful change.

· Contribute to the conceptualization and the development of a change management communication implementation plan.

· Facilitate the building of a tactical Organizational Change Plan. Actions include the identification of: client executive sponsorships, important client communications needs, the character and effects of the Corporate Work Culture, integration needs (gaps) between current and future organization structures, and implementation metrics that will reflect successful change.

· Contribute to the implementation of a tactical Organizational Change Plan. Document work, assist in activities, produce reports, and facilitate the success of the Change Plan.

· Assist in the development and implementation of a change management commitment strategy for targeted stakeholders.

Experience & Expertise

· Familiarity with, and knowledge of, contemporary Change Management concepts, theory, and tools is required.

· Competent written and verbal communications skills are necessary.

· Maturity and the ability to identify, understand, and operate effectively in the midst of normal organizational politics is required.

· The ability to work independently, to lead various initiatives, and to work in support of others as required is important.

· Mature judgement and, if required, the ability to make appropriate decisions "on the spot."

· A mix of at least 3 to 5 years of change management theory and applied experience with large organizations. Alternatively, actionable knowledge of a variety of change management experiences across different cultures and different industries including telecommunications.
