Contact Person: Karen Gasper
Date Posted: September 26th, 2011

The Department of Psychology at Penn State invites applications for the position of lecturer. The positions require teaching undergraduate research methods courses, possibly also introductory statistics, and either clinical, cognitive, developmental, industrial-organizational, or social psychology courses. A mix of online and classroom teaching assignments is possible. Previous teaching experience and fit to the department’s teaching needs are critical. These are full-time positions with a teaching load of three courses per semester during the academic year; summer teaching is negotiable. Ph.D. preferred and at least ABD status required. August 2011 or January 2012 start dates are possible. The initial contract period is one year, with an excellent chance of continuing and multi-year renewal depending on funding.

Review of applications for all positions begins immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Candidates should submit a letter of application including concise statements of teaching experience and interests, a CV, and the names and contact information for at least three references. Electronic submission of these materials is strongly preferred; please send to PsychApplications@psu.edu, noting Box R in the subject line. If you cannot submit electronically, applications can be mailed to Judy Bowman, 124 Moore, Department of Psychology, Penn State, University Park, PA, 16802. Questions may be addressed to Richard Carlson, Associate Head, at racarlson@psu.edu. We encourage applications from individuals of diverse backgrounds.
