The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore's national agency for promoting world-class research in science and technology, seeks a research engineer with a research interest in human interaction and social behavior. The candidate will join an interdisciplinary research team whose vision it is to develop social interaction technologies that enable people to use their natural communication capabilities to operate robots and other autonomous devices. Research topics include modeling of cognitive processes underlying social behavior, social rules, interpretation of communicative signals, and evaluation of a social situation.
The candidate should have expertise in one or more of the following fields: Communication theory, attitudes, social cognition, attribution theory, or theory of mind.
The research is hosted by the Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), a research institute within A*STAR that build on strong capabilities in computational modeling, simulation, and visualization technologies to solve challenging scientific and engineering problems.

Requirements:
Phd in Social sciences, Social Psychology, Sociology, or any related fields. Experiences with cognitive modeling or user testing are beneficial but not required.
