The Graduate School of Business at Columbia University anticipates appointing one Postdoctoral Fellow for a period of two years, with an anticipated starting date of May 1, 2010. The Postdoctoral Fellow will collaborate in research projects of mutual interest with the faculty. In addition, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be mentored in, and then teach two sections per year of the MBA course, Managerial Negotiations. The position is ideally-suited for someone with a strong background in psychological research methods who seeks exposure to the mix of basic and applied research and the teaching style in professional schools.

We seek an applicant who plans to work collaboratively on research with one or more of the psychologically-oriented faculty members in the Management Division (Modupe Akinola, Daniel Ames, Joel Brockner, Dana Carney, Tory Higgins, Sheena Iyengar, Malia Mason, Michael Morris, and Elke Weber). The division’s web page provides information about each faculty member’s research interests.

This position is open to candidates who have recently earned a Ph.D. degree (or will do so in advance of the appointment) in any area of psychology or organizational behavior. Familiarity with methods of experimentation at the social psychological and cognitive level of analysis is important. Experience in conducting computer-based, web-based, psychophysiological, neuroendocrine, fMRI, and/or interaction-based experiments is a plus, as is facility with statistics.

Applicants should mail (or email) a cover letter describing their research interests and accomplishments, a C.V., and three letters of recommendation to: Julia Sorenson, Post Doc Search Coordinator, Columbia Business School, 3022 Broadway, Uris Hall, New York, NY, 10027 (js3144@columbia.edu). Applicants should indicate one or two faculty members with whom they would be most interested in working. We will begin reviewing applications immediately and continue until the position has been filled.

Columbia University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.
