The post holder will be responsible to Dr. Robert Aunger. She or he will be expected to: Duties and Responsibilities --Develop and manage a growing programme of experimental and naturalistic research on human motivation, behaviour change and routine behaviour performance, particularly with relevance to everyday hygiene behaviours --Ensure that research findings are published in reputable journals, and other appropriate vehicles (such as scientific press) --Network and attend international meetings in order to increase awareness of the Hygiene Centre's agenda and approach to studying behaviour change --Contribute (where appropriate) to the teaching of the School's taught course and research training programmes --Play an active part in the academic life of the School and participate in departmental and unit activities --Undertake other duties as may reasonably be required Person Specification Essential: --Bachelor's or Masters in Experimental/Social/Cognitive/Biological Psychology or closely related topic --Experience in designing and implementing laboratory, web-based and/or computer-based experiments to investigate aspects of human psychology --Demonstrated intellectual interest in learning, motivation and habit formation --Proven ability in handling quantitative and qualitative data sets and use of statistics --A proven ability to write clear, structured and analytical reports --A record of research publications in peer reviewed journals or strong evidence of potential for this --A record of attracting research funding or evidence of potential to do so --A proven ability to work under pressure and complete work to deadlines --A proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment Desirable: --Ph.D. in Experimental/Social/Cognitive/Biological Psychology or closely related topic --Experience in proposal development --Experience in consumer science, anthropology or marketing --Experience of working in developing countries --Experience in lecturing, teaching or public speaking --Experience of working in the private sector and international organisations --Record of fund raising --Ability to function in the languages of French, Spanish, Swahili or other relevant --Own research agenda that enhances the mission of the Hygiene Centre --Interest in public health issues, especially in developing countries
