We invite you to consider joining the University of Ontario Institute of Technology’s (UOIT) globally trained faculty as we further our reputation as a leading learning environment that delivers innovative research.

The Faculty of Criminology, Justice and Policy Studies is accepting applications for a tenure-track or tenured position at any rank with a flexible start date; commencing no later than January 1, 2010. The successful applicant (if hired at the assistant professor rank) will hold a Ph.D. in a relevant social science area; possess potential to develop a strong record of publication and to compete successfully for external research funding; have some teaching experience and willing to provide service for a developing Faculty and University. Applications for a higher rank will be considered and the applicant is expected to have a Ph.D., an established record of publications and research grants, teaching experience, and willingness to provide service and mentorship in a developing Faculty and University. Applicants with expertise in the areas of critical approaches to policing and corrections as well as core areas such as quantitative methods are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Faculty of Criminology, Justice and Policy Studies offers an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Justice Studies, Legal Studies, Public and Social Policy and a Masters of Art (M.A.) in Criminology beginning in 2009. The ability to teach core areas such as corporate/white collar crime, organized crime, and justice theory would also be considered an asset. Candidates are encourages to refer to:
