The Social Identity Laboratory, at the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to begin on or about August 1, 2009, for at least one year. Continuation for a second year is possible pending available funds.

Primary responsibilities include planning and implementing studies as well as analyzing and writing up findings for several large data sets. One data set focuses on group identity and attitudes toward ingroup and outgroup members; the other focuses on social identity and well-being. Some of the data that has been collected and the data to be collected include breast cancer survivors as participants. Dr. Ann Bettencourt is the PI on these projects.

Candidates should have a strong aptitude in conducting statistical analysis (e.g., HLM/MLM, SEM, meta-analysis), a Ph.D. in Social Psychology or in a related field (e.g., health psychology, community psychology), a willingness to manage a team of researchers, and a willingness to conduct intervention and field-based studies.
