THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY SEEKS: applications for a tenure track position for 2001/2002 academic year, at the assistant professor level. To qualify, the candidate should have a Ph.D. in psychology or closely-related field by August 18, 20001, ability to teach courses in social psychology at the graduate and undergraduate level, and evidence of promise in carrying out a high-quality program of research in social psychology. We are seeking promising scientists in the area of groups and organizations, broadly defined. The successful candidate is likely to teach and do research in group dynamics, social influence, group identity, organizational psychology, intergroup relations and social conflict, or other related areas. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work would complement existing Social program strengths, which include intergroup relations, prejudice and stereotyping, emotions and motivation, and psychology and the law. Ability to contribute to our new Quantitative Ph.D. program is desirable but not required. Review of materials will begin on Wednesday, October 25, 2000, and will continue until the position is filled.
