Gettysburg College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Psychology at the Assistant Professor level beginning fall, 2008. Candidates for the position should have a Ph.D. in experimental social psychology. The successful candidate will teach in our rigorous, empirically oriented, undergraduate program, supervise undergraduate research, and maintain an active research program in his/her area of expertise. Area of specialization is open but could include social or affective neuroscience. Candidates will be expected to teach a course in social psychology and an upper level laboratory course in their area of specialization. Other teaching responsibilities may include general psychology, statistics, or experimental methods. The College is prepared to assist in establishing a program of scholarly activity, including a paid pre-tenure sabbatical leave following a successful pre-tenure review.
