Dear Colleagues,

We are conducting a meta-analysis on the racial microaggressions literature and are requesting quantitative data from unpublished studies. Sue et al. (2007) defined racial microaggressions as "brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial slights and insults toward people of color" (p. 271). All quantitative studies on microaggressions are eligible for inclusion, including data that have not been written up (e.g., from poster presentations), data from in-progress or under-review manuscripts, and data from theses or dissertations. We are interested in both statistically significant and null results.

For your convenience, you can provide us with data using the format below:

1. Number of participants in sample.

2. Race or racial/ethnic background of participants in sample.

3. Age, gender, and other relevant demographic information (e.g., generation status) of participants.

4a. If it is a correlational study: (a) What measures or questions did you use to assess racial microaggressions and other main study variables? (b) What was the internal consistency reliability (and test-retest stability, if available) of the measures used? (c) What were the correlations between racial microaggressions and each of the other variables in your study? (d) What was the sample size for each of these correlation coefficients?

4b. If it is an experimental study in which racial microaggressions were manipulated: (a) How were microaggressions manipulated? (b) What was (were) the outcome variable(s)? (c) What were the means and standard deviations on those outcome variable for each of the treatment and control groups in the experiment? (d) What was the number of people in each treatment and control group?

5. How should we cite or reference your data?

Please email this information to cathompson@csu.fullerton.edu. Also, feel free to contact us if you have any questions, concerns, or hesitations about sharing your data.

Thank you in advance for your time and support!

Sincerely yours,
