 University of Maine now accepting PhD and MA applications

Applications are open for the PhD and MA programs in Psychology at the University of Maine. The MA program focuses on developing expertise in advanced research and data analytical techniques (psychophysiology, nonverbal behavior, linguistic analysis, multivariate statistics) in preparation for applications to PhD programs or industry. Our doctoral program develops excellent researchers and teachers who will become leaders in psychological science. Our social area is interdisciplinary and our graduates have had consistent success in receiving tenure track academic job offers.

Potential applicants are encouraged to contact faculty of interest prior to applying. Faculty are conducting research in the following Social Psychology areas:

Dr. Mollie Ruben (accepting MA and PhD students) studies nonverbal communication, social perception, doctor-patient interactions and health disparities.

Dr. Shannon McCoy (accepting MA and PhD students) studies how devalued social status impacts health and wellbeing. Applicants must express interest in psychophysiology (EKG, impedance cardiography, blood pressure, EMG, fNIRS).

Dr. Jordan LaBouff (accepting PhD students) studies religious and spiritual beliefs, intergroup bias, and humility.
