Research Assistant

Art & Science Group, a consulting firm specializing in higher education strategy and market research, seeks an inquisitive and organized individual to join the firm as a research assistant. Qualified candidates must flourish in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. The research assistant will be an integral member of the research team assisting with its project-related tasks and responsibilities, which will increase over time. Specific responsibilities include:

Essential Responsibilities
• Conduct qualitative research interviews over the phone
• Code transcripts and notes, analyze themes, and contribute to the interpretation of findings
• Input, record and clean data and notes from research interviews
• Recruit, schedule and track enrollment for study participants
• Keep accurate records of all contact with study participants
• Develop spreadsheets and databases to support project activities
• Conduct literature/online reviews to support projects and proposals
• Participate in the collection, analysis, and review of quantitative research, as needed
• Participate in weekly research team meetings

Desired Qualifications/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in such fields as, psychology, sociology, statistics, public policy, public health or other social science related fields.
• Interest or experience in education/nonprofit sector
• Experience with and/or knowledge of data collection and analysis methodologies and techniques, such as survey design, analysis of program administrative data, and conduct of structured interviews, observations, and focus groups
• Proficiency with Microsoft office productivity tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong writing and oral communication skills
• Must be well-spoken and comfortable speaking on the phone
• Demonstrated excellent judgement, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment
