The VA Boston Healthcare System seeks a data analyst for the Women’s Health Sciences Division (WHSD) of the National Center for PTSD located in Boston, MA. The WHSD includes an extensive portfolio (in FY16) of approximately 40 funded research projects and programs, with a total annual budget of over $2.5 million. The 11 doctorally-trained core investigators at WHSD are highly productive academically and contribute to a large, vibrant pre- and post-doctoral training program.

Potential candidates will have an MA or Ph.D. in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g., MPH), with advanced training in statistics and experience in the application of a variety of different data analytical strategies to psychological data (e.g., linear and logistic regressions, hierarchical linear modeling, structural equation modeling). She/He will be responsible for completing data analyses for a variety of different projects on topics related to stress/trauma, mental health, and women’s health and will have the opportunity to co-author presentations and publications presenting the results of these analyses. This individual will be responsible for identifying and implementing appropriate data analytic strategies, as well as summarizing results in both written and oral formats. The position will be a two- year full-time appointment, with the possibility of renewal. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.

The mission of WHSD is to advance the clinical care and social welfare of women Veterans and others who have experienced trauma, or who suffer from PTSD, through research, education, and training in the science, diagnosis, and treatment of PTSD and stress-related disorders. Competitive candidates for this position should have advanced training in statistics, demonstrated experience in the application of advanced data analytic strategies, and interest in contributing to WHSD’s program of research on topics stress/trauma, mental health, and women’s health. U.S. citizen status is required.
