The Department of Psychology at Rutgers University-Newark anticipates hiring a social psychologist at the assistant professor (tenure track) level to start September 2017. All research areas of social psychology are welcomed. This position requires a Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related discipline. Highest priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate promise of becoming an outstanding scholar with research programs that can be supported by external funding, excellence in teaching, and ability to provide research mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.

The Department of Psychology strongly emphasizes research. The core research and doctoral training areas include Cognition/Perception, Developmental Psychology, Neuroscience, and Social Psychology. Our department offers excellent facilities including individual lab space, in-house tech support, and an ample and well-organized subject pool. The advanced Rutgers University Brain Imaging Center (RUBIC; rubic.rutgers.edu) has a 3T TRIO on site. For more information about the department, see:
