ABD or Ph.D. in any area of psychology or a closely related field. For candidates with ABD qualification, the appropriate doctorate is required for retention beyond the first year of employment. A Ph.D. from an accredited institution of higher education is required for tenure. Candidates should provide a record of, or potential for, scholarly activity, involving students whenever possible, using effective methodologies in areas related to multicultural and/or urban psychology. Examples of relevant scholarship include analysis of cultural factors relating to race, ethnicity, social class, sexuality, and language. Candidates should also demonstrate ability and interest in teaching in a multicultural, multiethnic, urban campus, using effective pedagogy. The successful candidate will be committed to the academic success of all of our students and to an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates diversity and differences. In addition, the successful candidate will be ready to join faculty, staff, students, and administrators in our University’s shared commitment to the principles of engagement, service, and the public good.
