The UCLA Department of Public Policy welcomes applicants for Assistant Professor of Public Policy in Social Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or Negotiations and Decision Making. We especially encourage applications from scholars with expertise relevant to public policies, organizations, or civic leadership. Areas of interest include 1) the forces that shape individual and group behavior in organizational settings, 2) the determinants of effective leadership and strategy, and 3) negotiation analysis and managerial decision making. Successful candidates will likely have doctorates in Psychology, Social Psychology, Sociology, Public Policy, Organizational Behavior, Negotiations and Decision Making, Political Science, Economics, or a related field.

Applicants’ research should have important public policy implications. Topical areas of interest—whether international or domestic—include poverty and inequality, immigration and migration, crime and drugs, science and technology, environment and energy, political psychology and organization, education, health care and health behaviors, and nonprofits/civil society.

We are a collegial, interdisciplinary department within a school of public affairs located at an excellent and diverse public university in one of the greatest cities in the world. We offer a Master of Public Policy degree, an undergraduate minor, and help train doctoral students from varied departments across campus.
