Dr. Jennifer Mangels, Professor of Psychology at Baruch College, a senior college of the City University of New York, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow for 2-year appointment (possibility of extension) to primarily contribute to two projects funded through the Army Research Laboratory Network Science Collaborative Technology Alliance (www.ns-cta.org). One project examines the social and cognitive factors underlying evaluation and trust of information accessible through social networks. The other focuses on the propagation of information through social networks and how the cognitive abilities of human nodes in the network influence the speed and quality of the information conveyed. These projects present exciting opportunities to be part of a large network of researchers in cognitive psychology, social psychology, computer science and military science. Additional opportunities for independent work in social cognitive neuroscience within Dr. Mangels’s Dynamic Learning Lab (www.mangelslab.org) are also available.

Applicants should have a PhD in cognitive or social psychology or related field and an interest in interdisciplinary research that bridges basic and applied science.
