Fall 2015 – Psychology, Assistant Professor

The New School for Social Research and Eugene Lang College the New School for Liberal Arts seek applicants for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychology to begin Fall 2015.

The New School is committed to actively recruiting applications from a diverse pool. We encourage candidates from groups underrepresented in US higher education to apply.

Candidates with interests in Social, Developmental, or Cognitive Psychology are encouraged to apply, especially those who study the intersection of these fields. Special attention will be given to those studying Emotion, Reasoning, Decision Making, Conflict Resolution, or Embodied Cognition. The successful candidate should have an original, active program of research with potential to attract external funding. The teaching load is four courses per year and includes both graduate and undergraduate teaching. We seek candidates with promise of excellence in research and teaching. The New School is also interested in candidates who could collaborate with department faculty on innovative ideas for future graduate certificates and masters programs.

Applicants must have the PhD (as of August 31, 2015). The review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The start date for the position is July 2015.
