Jacobs University Bremen is a private campus university offering degrees in engineering, natural sciences, humanities and social sciences at bachelor, master and doctoral levels. Jacobs University has more than 1,300 students from over 100 different countries.

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Jacobs University Bremen has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Social and Political Psychology (f/m) for the next possible date (ideally October 2013). It is a part-time (75%) position, available for max. 35 months (until August 14, 2016).

Tasks & Responsibilities:
The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to develop his or her research profile in the area of social and political psychology, in collaboration with Prof. Cohrs and his research group (for further information, see https://www.jacobs-university.de/directory/ccohrs). This includes running empirical studies independently, developing collaborative grant proposals, writing joint manuscripts, presenting at conferences, etc. Teaching responsibilities are one course per year.

Qualifications:
Candidates should hold a PhD in social and/or political psychology by the starting date; have a documented interest in the psychology of sociopolitical issues (ideally, related to ideology, intergroup relations, conflict, war and peace); should be experienced in both qualitative and quantitative research methods; and have very good English language skills. German language skills and experience with interdisciplinary work are also desirable.
