The Department of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is inviting applications for a faculty position in the Social Psychology Division, starting in Fall 2011. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Social Psychology, an active research program, an excellent record of empirical research and academic scholarship, and the potential to attract extramural funding.

Ideal candidates would be at the assistant level, with expertise on such topics as intergroup conflict, conflict resolution and reconciliation, justice, structural violence, prejudice reduction and social inclusion. Candidates should expect to become an integral part of the Psychology of Peace and Violence Program that resides within the Social Psychology Division, and they should be interested in understanding conflict in real world settings and the implications of research findings for policy and application.
