 Genocide victims - Pied-Piper syndrome?
Posted by Mark O

I have a question about the mental condition of genocide victims.

It appears to matter not who they are or how intelligent they are. Yet even when knowing what is going to happen, they will, en-mass obey the commands of their captors and not retaliate or attempt escape.

What is it that repositions the victims state of mind? Is it more a group condition? Does it apply to other life threatening situations?

I am sure study will have been done in this area - any suggestions on direction?
