Dissertation research on first generation immigrants
Posted by Jessica
June 4, 2013, 6:07 pm

Hello. My name is Jessica L. Chou, M.A. and I am currently a doctoral student at Saint Louis University in the Counseling and Family Therapy Department. I am searching for participants to take part in my dissertation research study (IRB# 23217). My objective is to explore factors related to pre- and post-migration experiences for first generation immigrants living in the United States. I am hoping to gain insight into the role of social support in relation to processes of migration, stress, and health. Participation in this study will involve the completion of online questionnaires taking approximately 15 minutes. If you are not eligible to participate in this study, I would greatly appreciate if you would pass it on to others who might be interested. Thank you for your time and help.

In order to participate, individuals:

(1) Must be 18+ years of age
(2) Must be a FIRST generation immigrant (was not born in the United States)
(3) Must be planning to continue living in the United States through permanent residency or citizenship obtainment
(4) Be able to read and respond to online questionnaires in English
