 | | | --------------------------------------------------- Announcement of Dissertation Research Award Program --------------------------------------------------- UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center (GGSC) is very pleased to announce that it will grant 15 awards for dissertation-level research projects with the greatest potential to advance the science and practice of gratitude. As part of a 3 year Expanding the Science and Practice of Gratitude project funded by the John Templeton Foundation, the Dissertation Research Award program provides up to $10,000 for one year to support doctoral students in the conduct of their dissertation research. Along with Dr. Robert Emmons from UC Davis, the GGSC seeks to expand the scientific understanding of gratitude, promote research-based practices in institutions like schools and hospitals, and engage the public in a wide-reaching cultural conversation about the role of gratitude in civil society. An overview of the project is here [1]. The application is posted here [2] and will become live on September 3, 2012 before the deadline on October 15, 2012 at 5pm.
