Call for Data: Meta-Analysis on Cyberball

Dear Colleagues,

We are currently in the preparation phase of a meta-analysis on Cyberball (and similar games), to study the effects of ostracism. We hope to be as comprehensive as possible in our data collection and therefore would like to ask you whether you have any unpublished data, manuscripts, in-press papers, conference papers, dissertations, or informal write-ups that could be of help to us. Our inclusion criteria are:

-Manipulation of social inclusion-ostracism via Cyberball (or any other tossing game that induces ostracism)

-Immediate measures after the cyberball game (e.g., need satisfaction, mood), delayed measures (e.g., coping behavior), or a combination of immediate and delayed measures.

-We are interested in successful and failed attempts

If it concerns unpublished data or an unfinished write-up, please include a short description of the study (assignment procedure, conditions, measures) and test statistics (confidence intervals and effect sizes next to F and p values) or the data set from which we can retrieve these values.

Any help is greatly appreciated and can be emailed to meta.cyberball@gmail.com (for ease of oversight). For questions, please feel free to email to c.hartgerink@gmail.com.

Kind regards,

Ilja van Beest, Tilburg University
Chris Hartgerink, Tilburg University
Jelte Wicherts, Tilburg University
Kip Williams, Purdue University
