SPSSI is a professional community of scientists from psychology and related fields who share a common interest in applying psychological theory and practice to social problems involving groups, communities, and nations. Contemporary Social Issues is a series of authored or edited volumesthat provides multifaceted analyses of issues affecting individuals, groups, communities, and society at large.Books published in this series are grounded in their authors’ programs of research and speaks to scholars, students, practitioners, and policy-makers in the substantive area. The series consists of 1-5 authored or edited books per year. The current editor of this series is Dr. Mark Snyder. For more details, visit: http://www.spssi.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=page.viewpage&pageid=953 SPSSI is launching a search for a new Series Editor for a three-year term starting in 2013 and ending in 2015.The editor will need scientific, editorial, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. He or she will select peer reviewers to evaluate book proposals as they are submitted and advise authors of potential books. The Editor will also work with the book series publisher, Wiley-Blackwell, to ensure the timely publication and prepare editorial reports for SPSSI Council. In the case of self-nominations candidates should email a copy of their CV, a two-page statement describing their previous editorial experience, vision and views about the future direction of this book series, and names of two referees. Review of applications will start on December 3, 2012, and will continue until the position is filled.
