The concept of Emotional Intelligence (EI) continues to gain strength as an effective tool in assessment and development of individuals and teams. There are a number of EI assessment tools on the market. The BarOn EQi® (developed by Reuven BarOn, Ph.D) has been used by over one million individuals worldwide and is the first scientifically developed and validated measure of emotional intelligence. The BarOn EQi® certification is distinctive in that it is designed to not only certify individuals in the BarOn EQi® but also to provide them the foundational training and tools they need to consult and coach in the area of emotional intelligence. In addition, our training and services are designed to meet the needs of professionals who work in the area of evidence based coaching, organizational psychology, consulting, education, recruitment, employee selection and development, organizational development, and leader/leadership training. As part of becoming a certified user of the BarOn EQi®, you will learn first-hand how to make optimal use of the BarOn EQi® in your practice. In addition, successful completion of this program will allow you to administer the EQ360, generate reports and provide feedback to individuals on their EQ360 results. 360 degree assessments are commonly used in organizational settings. They are used to assess someone’s performance from many different perspectives: --His or her own perspective --His or her leader’s perspective --His or her direct report’s perspective --His or her peer’s perspective --Where appropriate, his or her friends and family’s perspective Essentially, it is a holistic view of an individual’s effectiveness. A 360 degree assessment is anonymous – that means that the people rating the individual being assessed are confident knowing that they can be as honest as possible, without fear of repercussions. Different groups of people rate the individual on the same things, but from their own perspective, providing well-rounded feedback on how the individual demonstrates the behaviors being assessed. A key benefit of a 360 degree assessment is that it provides a wealth of feedback data for an individual in order for them to increase their effectiveness. It can help build bench strength within an organization by knowing where to focus development. And it can be seen as a great investment in leaders, teams, high potential individuals, which in turn can impact retention and employee engagement.
