The Department of Psychology at Western Washington University is seeking candidates for a tenure or tenure track Associate Professor in Cross-Cultural Psychology to begin September 16, 2007. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cross-cultural psychology and courses in the faculty’s specialty field as they fit the needs of the department. In addition, the successful candidate will be appointed Associate Director of the Center for Cross-Cultural Research (expectation of Director at a later date). Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications. The candidate’s primary scholarly domain within psychology is open (e.g., developmental, social, clinical-counseling). Required: Ph.D. in Psychology, evidence of successful teaching, demonstrated ability ot involve students in research and other educational experiences, active research program, publication record commensurate with experience, grant proposal writing skills, leadership skills or experience working collaboratively. Preferred: demonstrated ability to teach at both undergraduate and master’s degree levels and commitment to excellence in teaching, experience working with diverse, multicultural faculty and student populations, leadership position with faculty, demonstrated success in obtaining grants and contracts, budgeting experience.
