The ArticuLab, an interdisciplinary research lab at Northwestern University, has an opening for a full-time Lab Manager. The Lab Manager will work closely with Professor Justine Cassell, her graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduate students in designing, coordinating, and overseeing research studies that relate to online communities, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, and educational technologies. Responsibilities: Coordinate the day-to-day activities for multiple research projects; Recruit, hire, and oversee the management of 15 undergraduate research assistants; Schedule the use of lab space for lab members and research activities; Manage Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions; Oversee recruitment, scheduling, and screening of research participants; Assist with preparation of grant proposals and manuscripts; Prepare for and oversee special lab events; Manage research databases and locked data cabinets; Assist lab personnel with research methodology, statistics, and data analysis; Manage the security and use of lab equipment; Ensure conformity to lab policies.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Sociology, Communication Studies, Cognitive Science, Statistics, or a related field; 1-3 years of research experience; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Excellent interpersonal skills; Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills; Ability to work in a professional manner as both a self-starter and a team member; Intermediate-Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) and SPSS/other data analysis software.
