Position Title: Advanced Research Assistant
Organizational Background:
IMIFAP is a Latin American NGO, based in Mexico City, which focuses on health prevention and life skills training for people struggling with poverty. We work in the areas of reproductive and sexual health, gender, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse and violence prevention, as well as micro-enterprise. IMIFAP was founded in 1985, and in the past 20 years we have developed over 40 different programs, which have reached more than 16 million people in Mexico, nine other Latin American countries, the USA, the Caribbean, Greece and Uzbekistan. We are funded by major international organizations such as the World Bank, the United Nations and large US foundations such as W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Position Description:
This research assistant will work directly with Martha Givaudan, the vice-president and a senior psychologist of IMIFAP. S/he will be responsible for writing reports, articles, designing studies, developing contents for programs
Qualifications:
· Excellent research and analytical skills
· In depth understanding and application of research methods in social psychology
· Proven ability to write reports, articles and press releases
· Excellent communication skills
· Moderate Spanish skills or willing to learn
· Self-starter, who can take initiative and work with little guidance
Working Conditions:
· Salary depending on experience to be negotiated
· National Holidays
· Vacation: one week at Easter, one week at end of year.
· Option for leave of absence
