The Psychology Department is particularly interested in identifying psychologists (and Social Psychologists) who are appropriate for one of the positions. In conjunction with the inauguration of the new Ph.D. program in American Studies and Ethnicity, the University of Southern Caifornia invites applications for five tenured/tenure-track positions for the Fall 2000: two senior positions and one assistant professorship in African American Studies; one senior and one junior position in Asian American Studies. These are each joint appointments with departments in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The Program in American Studies and Ethnicity has particular intellectual strengths in : 1) the study of race and ethnicity; 2) Los Angeles as a global city; 3) the analysis of culture. Successful candidates will have a strong teaching/research program that addresses at least one of these emphases. Junior applicants should have the Ph.D. in hand by August 2000.
