The Department of Psychology and Social Behavior at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for two postdoctoral fellowships as part of an NIMH- funded training program focused on adaptive functioning in diverse sociocultural, environmental, and developmental contexts. The department has emphases in four areas (Health Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social/Personality Psychology, and Psychopathology/Behavioral Disorder) and individuals examning issues relevant to human health and well-being from any of these perspectives are encouraged to apply. Fellows will participate in a mentor-based training program with one or more of the core faculty (for a list of departmental faculty, see our web page at http://www.seweb.uci.edu/psb/). Faculty interests include stress and coping, cognitive and biobehavioral processes in health behavior, cognition and emotion, social development and developmental transitions across the life span, cultural influences on cognition and behavior, psychology and law, aging and health, and societal problems such as violence and unemployment.
