To clarify a potentially confusing detail, the position is for a Social Psychologist or a Health Psychologist and interested social psychologists need not study health issues. The official announcement: The Department of Psychology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for three tenure-track positions in the Experimental Psychology Program for the academic year beginning in August, 2005. Applicants should apply for positions in one of the following areas: 1) Assistant Professor, Behavioral Neuroscience; 2) Associate Professor, Human Cognition; or 3) Assistant Professor, Social or Health. Applicants from these areas who also have expertise in statistics are especially sought. Candidates should have a PhD and have demonstrated productive scholarship along with an enthusiasm for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for extramural funding. The Department currently consists of 31 faculty and four full-time lecturers in three PhD programs (Clinical, Counseling, and Experimental). Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
