 Summer Teaching Positions
Institution/Organization: Putney Student Travel - Excel at Amherst College
Job Location: Massachusetts, U.S.A.
Contact Person: David Fellner, Jr.
Date Posted: April 16th, 2002

Dear Friends,
We are seeking master’s and doctoral candidates and degree holders for two summer teaching positions in Social and Personality Psychology in our pre-college program at Amherst College.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified graduate students, young academics, or practitioners with an interest in education. We are looking for knowledgeable, dynamic, energetic people who have a genuine love of their subject area and an innate teaching ability. Candidates should have an excellent academic record and be comfortable designing their own college-level curriculum, with a demonstrable aptitude for teaching small groups of bright college-bound students in workshop or seminar-style format. Formal teaching experience is not required.
The positions are demanding, time-consuming, and in most cases, residential. During the program, residential instructors are expected to become involved in the campus community, directing and participating in athletic, arts, and cultural activities. Experience working with young people in similar residential settings is preferred.
I would appreciate it if you would make this information available to anyone you feel is qualified. It’s a terrific opportunity for the right person! Interested applicants should e-mail, send or fax their resume or curriculum vitae along with a brief cover letter in order to be considered for an interview. If you have any questions or would like further information, please do not hesitate to call (802-387-5000) or visit our web site (http://www.goputney.com/jobs). Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
David Fellner, Jr.
Associate Director, Excel Programs
