The Department of Psychology at THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI (http://www.olemiss.edu) invites applications for three visiting assistant professor positions in cognitive psychology, clinical psychology, and any area of experimental psychology. These are one-year positions with the possibility for renewal. Over the 2002-2003 academic year, the candidate will teach five courses, which may include general psychology, undergraduate laboratory, undergraduate statistics, graduate and undergraduate cognitive psychology, graduate and undergraduate tests and measurements, and courses in a specialty area. The positions involve a combination of graduate/undergraduate teaching and research supervision. We seek candidates who demonstrate teaching excellence and research productivity. The department offers doctoral degrees in experimental (concentrations in behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and social psychology) and clinical (APA-approved) psychology. Currently there are 12 full-time faculty, 69 graduate students, and 400 undergraduate majors. The University is located in Oxford, which has been consistently ranked as one of the best small college towns in the U.S. and is noted for its literary heritage.
