The Socio-Cognitive Processes Lab in the Department of Psychology at Princeton University is seeking applications for a postdoctoral or more senior research associate position. The lab focuses on understanding how large-scale social phenomena (e.g., collective beliefs, collective memories, collective emotions) emerge from the interaction between individual cognitive mechanisms and social dynamics. Projects in the lab will explore how cognitive mechanisms affect information propagation in social networks, how communities converge on shared memories/beliefs/emotions, and how people draw on these shared memories/beliefs/emotions to make decisions in real-world circumstances. The researcher will have the opportunity to develop new innovative projects building on their research interests and learn new methodologies that have been developed in the lab.

This is a one-year term position with the possibility of renewal based on funding and performance. The position start date is approximately September 15, 2017.
