The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) is currently recruiting for the position of Research Analyst 4 for Aging and People with Disabilities Programs. This position will provide an exciting opportunity for the right person by allowing them to participate in transforming the way government does business. What is this position all about?

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, leading and managing the development, implementation and evaluation of primary research, complex data queries, data analyses or reporting projects. The Research Analyst 4 consults with management about research needs, findings and conclusions. They consult with business experts to develop and design research questions and methods, establish procedures to assure data quality, and approve results. This position may be called upon to consult or serve as a spokesperson on research and data matters and to represent Aging and People with Disabilities programs on agency-wide research and evaluation committees and work groups. Employees in this position regularly consult with top management and administration.

Interested?? Here’s What You Need:

A Bachelor’s Degree in any disciplines that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures, and three years experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports. Two of the three years must have included coordinating complex research projects.

OR

Five years of research experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports. Two of the five years must have included coordinating complex research projects.

Ability to understand and interpret data.
Intermediate to advanced skills in at least one statistical software package..
Intermediate to advanced skills in querying databases.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to make changes in work procedures and priorities in response to new business processes.
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, staff and managers and the public who are requesting data.
