The Department of Psychology invites applications for a one-year appointment to begin August 2016. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in social psychology. ABD with imminent completion date will be considered. Teaching is required in both the Department's undergraduate and graduate programs, potentially to include such courses as social psychology, introductory psychology, personality and social psychology, quantitative psychology, and electives within the psychology curriculum.

FM offers excellent research facilities, a collaborative and collegial psychology department consisting of nine full-time faculty members, and the ability to accommodate professional interests. FM is one of South Carolina's 14 state-supported universities and enrolls approximately 4,000 undergraduate students. The campus is located 60 miles west of Myrtle Beach and 120 miles north of Charleston. The University is in a period of growth and development, including the Center for the Child, which is an on-campus, state of the art childcare facility that also houses a developmental clinic for faculty research, training, and clinical intervention, and the Center for Health Sciences, which is located in downtown Florence. FM places a high priority on providing support for the academic and teaching endeavors of its faculty, including ample intramural funding for travel and research activities.
