As part of the continued development and expansion of Keele School of Psychology, we are seeking to appoint a new Professor of Social Psychology to lead a growing group of social psychologists. This is a key appointment which will have a vital role in enhancing the School’s research profile, developing undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision and extending the School’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally. Specifically you will engage in and publish world leading research and generate significant research income; successfully supervise PhD and MSc students; offer leadership in research; undertake teaching responsibilities relevant to programmes of the School; and contribute more widely to the School through service, administration and leadership.

The School of Psychology is recognised nationally and internationally for its excellence in research, teaching and community engagement. Applications are invited from candidates with expertise in contemporary social psychology and its applications. You should have a PhD in Psychology or a related area, extensive experience of research and teaching together with a significant publication record in peer-reviewed journals and experience in gaining research funding. You should also have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, candidates should have experience in leadership and management in an academic environment coupled with the ability to motivate and co-ordinate other staff. The School of Psychology has over 25 members of academic staff but with plans to increase this substantially over the next five years. The School is well resourced for research and has extensive external collaboration with a wide range of partners.
