The Psychology Department at Merrimack College invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The first position is for someone with scholarly and teaching interests in Social Psychology broadly defined. In addition to Social Psychology, teaching responsibilities could include Personality, Organizational Psychology, and/or advanced courses in the individual’s area of expertise. The Department particularly seeks individuals whose scholarly interests make connections to multiple areas within the field. The teaching load for this position is typically three 4-credit courses per semester.

The second position is in Behavioral Neuroscience. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in psychology with a focus in neuroscience. They should be prepared to teach a laboratory course in Behavioral Neuroscience, as well as Introduction to Psychology and other courses of mutual interest. The semester teaching load for this position is either three 4-credit courses or one section of Behavioral Neuroscience lecture with three accompanying laboratory sections.

Our program is dedicated to the mission of fostering the development of skills and understandings required for developing theory, making inquiries, and applying principles related to a diversity of psychological systems and frameworks. Both positions require a strong commitment to undergraduate education, scholarship, and service. The Department of Psychology at Merrimack College is currently an undergraduate program composed of 7 full-time members. We are anticipating growth in the coming years, including the development of a Master’s program.

Applicants should submit a letter of application, a statement of teaching and research interests, curriculum vitae, names of three individuals willing to provide letters of reference, official transcripts, and a sample of scholarly work to psychology@merrimack.edu.
