Assistant Professor of Psychology in Human Neuroscience

Ohio Wesleyan University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Psychology in Human Neuroscience tenure track position.

Ohio Wesleyan University (www.owu.edu) is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and is located just 20 miles north of Columbus.

The Psychology Department at Ohio Wesleyan University seeks to fill a tenure track position in human neuroscience to begin August 2015. The successful candidate will teach six courses per year including introductory psychology, introductory neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, and advanced courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. Preference will be given to candidates whose specialty focuses on language, affective processing or executive function. Candidates should have a Ph. D. in psychology, neuroscience, or related field completed by August 1, 2015, and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts context. Candidates should provide evidence of teaching excellence and a well-articulated plan to establish and maintain an active research program that involves advanced undergraduate students.

Initial application packets will include: (1) cover letter; (2) curriculum vitae; (3) a teaching portfolio including a statement of interests, syllabi, and course evaluations; and (4) a statement of research interests and sample reprints or preprints of recent work. Screening of applications will begin September 30, 2014 and continue until the position is filled. After the initial review of applicants, candidates will be asked to supply three letters of reference.
