THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI-COLUMBIA invites applications for a position in SOCIAL/PERSONALITY PSYCHOLOGY. This position is at the rank of assistant professor. Although our goal is to hire the best scholar, irrespective of the exact content of their research programs, we are especially interested in individuals whose primary interests are in the areas of motivation, emotion, or personality, self, or group processes. UM-C currently has 31 regular faculty, over a dozen visiting faculty and post doctoral fellows, and over 70 graduate students organized into the training areas of Cognition & Neuroscience, Clinical, Developmental, Social, and Quantitative Psychology. Undergraduates majoring in psychological sciences exceed 800. Faculty members hold over $6 million in external research funding. Institutional commitments to the department will result in the addition of 13 new regular faculty over the next few years, along with additional space and infrastructure support. The department has a reputation for collegiality and extraordinary support for junior faculty.
