The Psychology Department at the University at Albany, State University of New York, invites applications for a tenure track assistant or associate professor position in Social/Personality Psychology, to begin in Fall 2013. Area of research specialization is open but applicants who can collaborate with existing faculty in the department are especially welcome.

The ideal candidate will have a strong program of research and an excellent record of publication in top-tier social psychology journals. Candidates for the assistant rank should have a strong potential to attract external funding for their program of research. Candidates for the associate rank should have a record of external funding and be recognized scholars in the field. In addition to conducting scholarly research, faculty duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising doctoral and master's theses.

Applicants must have a Ph.D., preferably in social psychology, from a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization. Applicants must address in their application their ability to work with and instruct a culturally diverse population because the Department is dedicated to training scholars for work in a world of increasing diversity.
