The Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in social psychology to start July 1, 2012. Successful candidates may specialize in any area of social psychology, though we are especially interested in applicants with research programs that complement the program’s existing strengths in either topic or approach. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) interpersonal/group processes, race/culture, emotions/attitudes, health/well-being, judgment/decision-making, or behavioral change/self-regulation. Approaches of interest include (but are not limited to) social cognition, social neuroscience, social genomics, or psychophysiology. Successful candidates will have a strong record of research productivity, the potential to develop an independent, externally-funded research program that involves doctoral students, and a commitment to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
