Montana State University is seeking one postdoctoral researcher to contribute to our NIH funded grant titled Culturally connected communal goals: Latino and Native Americans in Biomedicine. The project abstract is below. This position is available as early as August 29, 2011 (or start as late as Jan 15, 2012) for an initial period of 1 year with the possibility to renew for two additional years.

Candidates must have a PhD or be ABD in Psychology, with a Social Psychology or Gender/Cultural emphasis preferred. Although the postdoc position is housed within the Montana State University Department of Psychology, the postdoc will also be expected to interface with the Co-PI at California State University-Long Beach. The postdoc will provide assistance with the technical aspects of the project, help oversee recruitment and longitudinal tracking of participants, and serve as an important facilitator with the Tribal College Biomedical Project Director and supervise undergraduate research assistants. This person will contribute to the collection, analyses, and dissemination of the data through reports, presentations and publications. The ideal candidate will have experience and demonstrated proficiency in project management, research design, data collection and analyses in both lab-based and longitudinal naturalistic settings. Excellent organization, written, and statistical skills are a must. Interest in and familiarity with diversity in STEM research is preferred. Opportunities exist for additional collaborative and independent research projects with access to large subject pools and laboratories at both universities.
