Senior Lecturer
The incumbent will be required to teach research methodology and data analysis at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Psychology. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to be actively engaged in research and supervise student research projects at all postgraduate levels.
Minimum requirements:
• A PhD or equivalent degree in Psychology or a related discipline • Teaching experience in psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels • Evidence of supervision of postgraduate research in psychology • Evidence of recent sustained peer-reviewed research output in ISI approved journals
Advantages:
• Demonstrable skills in statistical analysis • Experience in teaching and research on African perspectives in psychology or neuro or cognitive psychology • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
Professor/Associate Professor
The incumbent will be required to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Psychology. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to be actively engaged in research and supervise student research projects at all postgraduate levels.
Minimum requirements: Professor:
• A PhD in Psychology or a related discipline • At least five years’ academic leadership, research and teaching experience in psychology • Evidence of supervision of completed doctoral research in psychology • Evidence of recent sustained peer-reviewed research output in ISI approved journals • Evidence of success in obtaining independent research funding or active leadership contribution to externally funded research programs
Minimum requirements: Associate Professor
• A PhD in Psychology or a related discipline • At least three years’ research and teaching experience in psychology • Evidence of curriculum development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in psychology • Evidence of completed Masters level supervision and current supervision of doctoral research in psychology • Evidence of recent peer-reviewed research output in ISI approved journals Advantages: • Experience in teaching and research on African perspectives in psychology • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
