The Departments of Psychology and African-American Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) invite applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position to begin August, 2009, subject to budgetary approval. The position will reside 75% in Psychology and 25% in African-American Studies. We seek applicants in any area of psychology whose research program contributes to one or more of the Psychology Department’s five programs of study (Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical, Cognitive, Community & Prevention Research, and Social and Personality psychology) and whose research contributes to the strengths of African-American Studies (race, gender, sexuality, and Diaspora). Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses and research supervision. Candidates who can teach graduate statistics are especially welcomed. UIC is a research intensive university and provides a rich environment for interdisciplinary research. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Psychology and demonstrate scholarly productivity and the potential for grant support.
